Amphan to touch land between West Bengal and Hatia in Bangladesh
NEW DELHI: The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued.
It is 300 km from Paradwip in the Bay of Bengal and has been moving northwards at a speed of 18 km per hour for the past four hours.
It will make landfall from noon tomorrow evening to Sundergarh between Digha in West Bengal and Hatia Island in Bangladesh. The maximum wind speed is expected to be 155 to 165 per hour and 165 km / h in some places.
As a result, it has been raining in various parts of the state since this morning. It is raining in many parts of Jagat Singhpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts. However, Jajpur, Baleshwar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Khordha and Puri districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall today. Danger signal 4 was issued in Paradwip and Chandbali, while 3 in Gopalpur and Puri. The state government is fully prepared to deal with the storm, and people have been evacuated.
Kolkata: The storm is expected to make landfall in Sundarbans in West Bengal in the evening. It has been raining in the eastern West Bengal since early morning. Wind speeds also appear to be increasing. However, the storm is on its way to West Bengal from Amphan Paradwip, with Baleshwar, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj in the middle. The effects of the storm will now be felt in these three districts. Even in the morning, the wind speed is expected to be higher.

The temporary hut of Damodar Kar in Ohad village of Achutpur panchayat has been left homeless due to the wind blowing. Many shops and trees were destroyed in the Gandibed market. Tahsildar Pradeep Sahu said the damage would be assessed after the wind receded.
